From Jiangsu to Portugal, a story rooted in Chinese artistic tradition is reaching a new audience.

At Casino Espinho, the Jiangsu Acrobatic Troupe presents Phantom of Love, bringing together acrobatic skill, artistry and emotion on an international stage.

Founded in 1954, the troupe is a representative of Chinese acrobatic art, with roots closely connected to Jianhu — an important birthplace of Chinese acrobatics with a history stretching back more than 2,000 years. Over the decades, the troupe has continued to explore contemporary ways of presenting traditional acrobatics and has performed in more than 80 countries and regions.

In Phantom of Love, that tradition takes on a new visual language.

Behind the performers, Chinese-inspired architecture, landscapes and changing visual content unfold across the LED backdrop, working with movement, lighting and music to shape each scene. The screen is no longer simply a backdrop. It becomes part of the story.
